Marie Hellbergh - Textile Nature

  • Bosjökloster Slottsförvaltning Bosjökloster Slott & Trädgårdar Höör, Skåne County, 243 95 Sweden (se karta)

Textile artist Marie Hellbergh has carried with her a lifelong passion for creativity and textile expression. This Easter, her artworks will be on display at Bosjökloster, where colour, form, and emotion are woven together to express her love for nature.

Marie Hellbergh grew up on the island of Hönö and has long made her home in Lidköping. For more than fifty years, she has explored art in many forms – watercolour, patchwork, quilting, and weaving – creating everything from artisan quilts and wall hangings to small watercolours and mixed media collages. Her creative drive has always been strong, and a curiosity for new techniques and forms of expression continues to inspire her work.

Nature is her greatest source of inspiration, but urban environments and personal experiences also spark new ideas. Often, a project begins with her playing with strips of fabric, letting colour and form lead the way – her fabrics are her paint tubes.

Marie mainly works with hand-dyed and hand-printed fabrics, giving each piece a unique expression. For her, working with textiles is a way to convey emotions, memories, and impressions. She is drawn to the texture, colour, and pattern of fabric and enjoys experimenting to discover new ways of expressing herself.

Her art is a continuous journey, driven by curiosity and a passion for learning.

The exhibition is open April 3 - 6, 2026 in the View Room.
