Karl XI meets the unexpected present – Nina Gyllenkrok

Nina Gyllenkrok lets the familiar encounter the unexpected in her paintings. Her version of the famous Swedish king Karl XI shares the room with photo-portraits of contemporary women, as well as works by legendary glas artist Bertil Vallien.

Nina has worked with design throughout her career, in recent years as a free creative artist. She studied at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm and has devoted her visual expression to conveying the unexpected.

In her exhibition at Bosjökloster, Nina shows a series of "portraits", where she plays with colour and form. NIna also displays variations of Ehrenstahl’s famous portrait of Karl XI from 1676, where the king sits astride his horse Brilliant during the battle of Lund.

Nina is proud to have Bertil Vallien from Kosta Boda as her co-exhibitor.
